The catchall is not my original design. Fujio Murase purchased this piece from an antique store and gave me permission to make it and we also used it for his seminars in Japan.
Wood pieces of this sort were found in Norwegian homes to catch all kinds of odd and ends. Some were much bigger and used for mittens, etc.
This is a fun piece to paint and suits a symmetrical design. I have painted it with Os, Hallingdal and Telemark styles which can be found in the packet category.
