The symmetrical design is based on "C" and "S" scrolls with abstract flowers flowing out between the scrolls. The bowl section is painted with an asymmetrical design.
These unique pieces were usually larger and used to hold mittens and gloves. Today they are a good piece to hang by the door to keep your keys, etc. things you need when you leave the house.
