I was inspired to make this wood piece after seeing a similar one in Japan. It was perfect for the Rosemaling roses I was trying to find something to use for a sampler. I painted seven of the most popular styles and researched different kinds of roses painted by various artists. This is the result of my interpretation. I used typical leaves and details from each style. Rogaland, Valdres, Telemark, Hallingdal, Os, Vest Agder and Trondelag are represented on this sampler.
The coasters slide in and out through the top and the wood piece fits so nicely in a small wall area. It measures 5 x 30 x 3/4. The designs could be blown up and used on plates or other objects.
The packet includes the instructions, photos before and after the line work, and the line drawings.
