This muffin plate is turned out of poplar and 5 3/8" x 3 7/16".
A smaller version of a Norwegian cake plate is what prompted this design. It's a good size for a beginning project and especially nice with a geometric design.
It is featured in "Rosemaling Styles, Study and Design" with geometric Hallingdal on a red background. Use this piece to make your own geometric design. It's easier than you think. Start with a center dot or root. Divide the circle in 4th, 5th, or 6th parts. Paint a center flower, then in each section paint strokes or flowers of your choosing and decorate them, including stems to each object. Enjoy!
