This “Strokes of Time” clock was painted with spring European flowers using JoSonja acrylics in 2006. I designed this clock and have several designs for it. It measures 11” x 30” x 3”.
I originally design this clock for rosemaling, but decided to try it painted with European flowers. With this design I wanted to use spring flowers, still incorporating the popular rose and/or ranuculus, along with aneomes, peonies, crocus, tulips, daffodils and narcissus, fuchsias and some little spring blooming filler flowers. I used a Smoked Pearl background, stippled with Pear White and then Rich Gold, trimming the clock with Rich Gold. Any light background color will work well with this palette.
The packet includes six pages of instruction, 4 enlarged photographs and the line drawing.
