This ten inch plate was painted with inspiration from the Sata-Baera school of Hallingdal painters. The background is Russet, a new JoSonja acrylic color I wanted to try. Red was a favorite background color in Hallingdal, so I chose it for this project. I love these tulips, especially the one in the center, which was inspired by Embric Baera, Herbrand Sata's son.
