This 12” shallow bowl was painted using JoSonja acrylics in the Telemark style.
In the Telemark area rosemaling was the most prolific and advanced in Norway. There were numerous very fine and skilled painters. The intertwining of scrolls and elegant flowers in asymmetrical designs are graceful and wonderful to look at as well as paint.
I enjoy painting this style and this is an easy bowl to paint because it’s not very deep. This is a very typical Telemark design and palette, and I hope you will enjoy painting it. Use “Rosemaling Styles Study and Design for a reference.
The packet includes three pages of instruction, three enlarged photographs and the line drawing.
