This Vest Agder cream carafe was painted in 2005 using JoSonja acrylics. It measures 5 ¼” in diameter x 7 ½” tall.
In this style of Vest Agder Rosemaling, there were lots of teardrops used for decoration. Most of the time the graduated teardrops were on the inside of the line. They can be found within scrolls and flowers as well as between flower, leaves and stems. It’s a fun style to paint and I hope you’ll enjoy it. A red background was also popular in this district.
This container I had made after seeing many similar used on tables in Norway to hold their commercial containers of sour cream. I had this one made to fit most of our US sour cream, butter or cottage containers, products of cream. Theirs did not have a lid, but I thought it would be more useful.
The packet includes three pages of instruction, eight enlarged photographs and the line drawing.
