This 12" plate has different views and stages of development of the European rose that I enjoy painting. Any plate can be used.
The packet includes the rose study worksheet. The rose study DVD is also helpful for understanding the structure of the rose. They are easy to freehand by just sketching circles for each. It' easier to start with a circle than to have a pattern with all the petals because one tends to get caught up in trying to paint each petal instead of the complete rose.
The palette is simple, but a number of complementary colors can be made for a pleasing effect.
