The cream carafe was calling me to paint it in the Numedal style. It's such a wonderful serving piece which holds cottage cheese, yoghurt and certain butter containers. You can also put sauces in the used container and serve it in this attractive piece.
Numedal is a lesser known style of Rosemaling, a valley located in the Buskeurd area between Hallingdal and Telemark. We can see the style intermingling in later times. I painted this project with influence from Sebjorn Kverndalen (1786-1875) as his style is so wonderful with scrolls, rocailles and many kinds of fun details.
