Door escutcheons are used either side of a door knob. This rococo design was painted in 2005 using JoSonja acrylics. It measures 3 7/8” x 24 ¼” x 3/8”.
The rococo style is the basis for Telemark rosemaling and can be found influencing other styles as well. In Gudbrandsdal we see it in the painting and carving. Use a background of your choice for this design. I have painted it on a light, medium and dark background.
The wood piece shape I designed with memories of iron ones I’d seen on old Norwegian doors. I thought it would be fun to have a different style on each of the doors in one’s house. You could even add a cute name for the room, or announce whose room it is. Enjoy and have fun.
The packet includes two pages of instructions, three enlarged photographs and the line drawing.
