This is my church plate for 2009. It's from the Sogn og Fjordane area on the west side of Norway. I paint a new plate every year, this being the 34th.
The church was built in the early 1100's, some of the parts used were from a previous church dated back to the 1050's. I dressed up the border more than would typically be seen from that area. I used elements from the decoration on the altar and walls in the border design.
