The Bykle church, located in the Setesdal valley, was painted in 2000 on a 12” plate.
Bykle is located in the Setesdal valley next to Telemark. It is a very small mountain community. The outside of the church was refurbished in 1880. The inside has nice old acanthus painting with Telemark influence as was typical in the northern end of the valley. I decided to use that style for the border and a winter scene since that’s how I first photographed it.
The packet includes 3 pages of instruction using JoSonja acrylics, two photographs and the line drawing.
