These Gudbrandsdal, Baroque flowers were painted in 1996 on the wood Chippendale tray using JoSonja acrylics. The measurements are 15 3/4" x10 1/8" x 1 1/8".
I used ideas from Peder Aadness' (1739-1792) baroque style of painting. He was actually from Sondre Land, but painted in Valdres, Gudbrandsdal, traveled and painted throughout southeastern Norway. He was responsible for inspiring Ola Berge (1768-1825) in Valdres as well as other painters here and in Gudbrandsdal with his stylized flowers. You can see European influence and more realistic forms evident in this style.
The packet includes five pages of instructions, two photographs and the line drawing.
