Door escutcheons are used either side of a door knob. This Vest Agder design was painted in 2005 using JoSonja’s acrylics. It measures 3 7/8” x 24 ¼” x 3/8”.
Vest Agder lies in southwestern Norway. The style varies from north to south. The north had more influence from Telemark painters, where in the south there was more influence from the local area around Fjotland, the leading artistic center. A unique style developed here with imported designs, perhaps Dutch. The Vest Agder style is based more on flower baroque than on acanthus baroque.
The packet includes three pages of instructions, three enlarged photographs and the line drawing.
